Pep Guardiola warned that Manchester City still faced a big challenge to retain the Premier League title in spite of Sunday’s brilliant 3-1 derby win over United.
The Blues produced another dominant all-round display to claim the bragging rights over Jose Mourinho’s side and go into the international break two points clear of Liverpool at the top of the table and four clear of third-placed Chelsea.
But Guardiola stressed that neither he nor his players would be getting carried away with things despite a superb run of form that has seen the Blues win five games in three competitions across a demanding 13 day schedule.
“City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal - they have numbers to be champions,” Guardiola stressed.

“We are just two points clear - it is nothing.
“At the end three points versus a contender is the same as Southampton and will be against West Ham after international break
“The important thing is we are consistent. Our play most of the time good but I see a lot of things we can improve.”
