Pep Guardiola has received glowing reports over Benjamin Mendy’s commitment to the recovery process of his latest injury set back.
The Frenchman, who suffered successive knee injuries last season, trained alone in Barcelona while City toured Asia and the boss says his effort has been exemplary.

Mendy has been plagued by injuries since his arrival in Manchester and though reluctant to add any additional pressure to his recovery, Guardiola believes his full-back can make a telling contribution when fully fit.
“If he’s fit he will have success,” said the Catalan. “He has a special quality.
“I’m satisfied because for two weeks he has felt good after training. He doesn’t feel pain.
“With these kinds of traumatic injuries, he’s unlucky. He had the first against Crystal Palace and then the foot injury.
“He couldn’t get into a rhythm for a long time. That is a concern.
“He is training good. The people in Barcelona tell me he is working incredible. Hopefully he can maintain that.”
