Nick Cushing says he could not be more proud to witness City's Academy graduates making the step up to the men's first-team.

Cushing is best-known for guiding our women’s team to six major trophies in six years at the helm (and two Champions League semi-finals)... but unbeknownst to many, his career at the Club has spanned a much longer period with plenty more success stories.

The 35-year-old joined City’s Boys Academy back in 2007 and has managed some notable names along the way, playing a key role in their early development as an Under-9s coach.

Amongst his students were Phil Foden, Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Tommy Doyle, Rowan McDonald and Cole Palmer, who are now of course emerging into Pep Guardiola‘s first team!

In this exclusive interview, we sit down with Nick to discover what the City-mad youngsters were like as children, what made them stand out from the crowd and whether he knew - even then - that they’d go on to fulfil their dreams...
