The Portugal international has featured in all of our Premier League games so far this year, and has continued to impress in a range of positions.

Speaking ahead of our mid-week clash against Everton, our boss has praised the 24-year-old for his recent performances, stating that competition within the City squad is incredibly high, particularly because of Bernardo.

“It’s in the moment of what I feel,” Pep said about his squad selection. “To drop Bernardo right now is impossible and what this guy has done every single game: he has played perfect.

“The way he reads the opposition, the way he lifts the game and they (the players) have to compete with Bernardo.

“That doesn’t mean I don’t have confidence in other ones. It’s a competition for them as well.”
