Pep Guardiola is particularly impressed with the way his new signings are adapting to Manchester City’s way of playing.

Angelino started at left-back and Rodri replaced David Silva in the second half as City beat Kitchee 6-1 in our penultimate pre-season game and the boss feels both players will improve further as they becoming increasingly familiar with a new style of play.

“Both have the ability to play in different sides,” explained Pep.

“Angelino will improve next time when he realises how good he is and how good a team we are.

Rodrigo already has the experience. He’s so young but as a holding midfielder he’s so smart. He pays a lot of attention to what we try to do.

“We don’t have any doubts about those players. They will adapt to the way we play.”
