Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak says Manchester City are determined to both honour and enhance the Club’s proud history as we prepare for our forthcoming 125th anniversary celebrations.
In the second and concluding part of his season review with City editor-in-chief Chris Bailey, the Chairman also revealed the Club were exploring the idea of a safe standing area for supporters at the Etihad Stadium.
In a wide-ranging interview, the Chairman also discussed his excitement at the forthcoming arrival of new kit partners Puma.
However, the Chairman began part two of his season review by both reflecting on our historic past and focusing on an exciting future with the Club preparing celebrations to mark our 125th anniversary.
“This Club has an incredible 125-year rich history. I am very much proud to have been part of the last 10 years and very much look forward to the role we will play in the future of this great Club,” he said.

“This is going to be a great celebration over the next 12 months as we remember the past and also look forward to the future and focusing on the next 125 years.
“It’s about how we build the future of this Club.”
The Chairman also spoke about his excitement at the forthcoming global partnership with kit manufacturers Puma as well as discussing potential future development of the Etihad, revealing the Club were exploring the possibility of introducing a safe standing area.
“Puma is going to be an amazing partner for us and I’m excited by that,” he added. “This partnership will really raise the profile of City to a different level.
“In terms of the Etihad, we have been working for a while now on the expansion. I’m a big fan of safe standing. It’s such an important part of the game and I would love for us to have a safe standing area.”
The Chairman also spoke at length about his pride at the achievements of our women’s team who won both domestic cup competitions this season, the fine work being done within City’s Academy with the emergence of exciting young talent such as Phil Foden as well as developments within the wider family of the City Football Group.
