Phil Foden says nothing beats scoring at the Etihad Stadium after he grabbed the final goal in City’s 2-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb.
The young midfielder emerged from the bench to make sure of the victory against the Croatians, whose resolute defending made life difficult for the hosts.
City spurned several chances in the first half, but watching on from the substitutes bench, Foden was unconcerned and he was delighted to add his name to the score sheet after Raheem Sterling’s opener.
“You never write this team off,” he said.
“I always have the feeling, watching or playing, that we’re going to score because our attack’s unbelievable.
“We believe that as well and I think that’s the main thing, that we always keep going to the end and believe in ourselves.
“There’s no better feeling than scoring here at the Etihad in front of my fans and City’s fans. It’s just an unbelievable feeling and I can’t describe it.
“We’re looking very strong but we can’t let this slip now. We’ve just got to keep going and wanting to win every game. That’s the standards we set here and that’s the aim.”
