Pep Guardiola has saluted the attitude, application and commitment of Angelino following the defender’s summer return to City.
After appearing as a substitute in last Saturday’s 8-0 Premier League win over Watford, the Spanish defender made his first senior start since his move back to rejoin club from PSV Eindhoven in our 3-0 Carabao Cup win at Preston in midweek.
Angelino has boosted the manager’s options at left-back with Benjamin Mendy back in action after two injury-ravaged seasons and Oleksandar Zinchenko, who has performed the role with distinction in Mendy’s absence also options.
Speaking at his press conference ahead of Saturday tea-time’s Premier League trip to Everton, Guardiola was full of praise for Angelino.

“In training every day he’s fantastic,” Guardiola declared. “He played incredible in Eindhoven and we brought him back because of what happened with Mendy over the past few seasons and we had just Zinchenko.
“We played two seasons without a left-back because of Mendy’s injury. We know his quality upfront - in the final third he is so clever, and he is doing good and he played well.
“He knows the club. He was at the Etihad and he trained with us many times in the first season so it’s good.”
