Walsh, 22, has been a mainstay in midfield since breaking into the senior squad as a teenager, proving the engine in the City machine which has secured three Continental Cups, two FA Cups, a league title and successive Champions League semi-finals since her debut in 2014.

Regarded as a pivotal member of the squad by her peers and former manager Nick Cushing, Walsh is one of the brightest talents in the English game – admired for her technical ability, passing accuracy and Mancunian grit.

Rochdale-born and Blue through and through, the England star has clocked up 142 appearances in sky blue, scoring five goals, and is excited to be representing her childhood Club for years to come.

In addition to more silverware, one of the Club’s longest-serving players, the midfielder hopes to add more goals to her collection, targeting what would be one very special strike against Manchester United!

“Scoring more goals – that’s something I probably need to work on,” she added.

Georgia Stanway is always giving me a bit of banter because she’s the Goalscoring Queen! She tells me to take more shots.

“I’m trying to hopefully get one in the Derby! That’s my aim!

“My improvement overall is to get more assists and goals – that’s what wins games and helps the team so that is important for me.”
