The attacking midfielder – best known for her incredible goalscoring ability from distance – has become an integral part of Nick Cushing’s side, aiding the Club’s 2019/20 cup double-winning success and playing a key part of this season’s hunt for silverware.

Impressed with her development both on and off the pitch so far, Weir hopes to reach another level in sky blue, and enjoy more trophy success.

The 24-year-old has already shone on the big stage this season, netting a sensational winner in the first professional Manchester Derby at the Etihad Stadium.

Asked whether we could expect more long-range wonderstrikes, Weir laughed: “Hopefully! I practice them in training and if they come off, great!

“We’ll have to wait and see!”
