CSB are City’s official LGBTQ+ Supporters Club and, having initially been formed back in 2014, are one of the oldest groups in the Premier League.
Regularly attending home and away matches for both our men’s and women’s teams, the group are open to all City supporters, whether part of the community or allies.
Meeting in Ancoats before a short walk over to the Etihad Stadium, it’s immediately clear that CSB’s importance goes beyond a love of the Club, with it also taking on an important social role for each of its members.
However, while LGBTQ+ History Month is an opportunity to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, it is also an important milestone in the year to acknowledge its history and heritage.
With this in mind, David first takes us to Canal Street, Manchester’s gay village, to discuss some of the key moments and locations in the city’s LGBTQ+ history.
An important conversation follows in Sackville Gardens around the progress that still needs to be made, namely the issue of homophobic chanting on football terraces, with David explaining why certain terminology needs to remain in the past.
