Riyad Mahrez, Scott Carson and Stefan Ortega Moreno have put their maths skills to the test in the Cisco Squad Maths Challenge.

Dialling in via Webex by Cisco, the players were joined by Zoya and Suyash – two Young Leaders from our Cityzens Giving project in Mumbai, India.

Together with other inspiring Young Leaders, they are using the combined power of football and technology to educate children on Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths (STEM) subjects through a bespoke, co-created Football & STEM curriculum.

Speaking about taking part in the Squad Maths Challenge, Zoya said: “As a Manchester City fan, this whole season has been a dream come true.

“I am so happy to be a Young Leader, working with kids and educating them on STEM subjects through football.

“Celebrating and sharing this joy with the players was an indescribable experience!”

Cisco has supported the project in Mumbai since 2020, alongside connecting our global network of over 800 young leaders through quarterly Digital Forums via Webex by Cisco.

In January 2023, a new Cisco Tech Grant was launched to help the project close the gap in tech inequality, empowering more girls into tech. Since January, this bespoke programme has engaged over 700 participants in Mumbai.
