And to celebrate the return of the Blue Run to the Etihad campus, on March 26, City in the Community (CITC) set Manchester City duo, Karen Bardsley and Julie Blakstad, the challenge of answering special questions all based on its work.

However, there was a special twist. On the other end of a video call were two CITC BTEC students, each paired to either Karen or Julie.

Each time a player got a question wrong, their respective student would be covered in blue paint by Academy Coach Jamie Carr, who continues to train for his Nothing Ventured Campaign 2022.

Breezy with a chance of paint? There could only be one winner!

Watch to find out who came out on top, and who went home feeling blue…

Don’t forget you can still sign up to CITC’s Blue Run!

We have two distance options for fans to choose from. Your mini blue may enjoy taking on the 2.5km route whilst the 5km option offers more of a challenge.

It’s your choice to run, walk or dance your way around the route.

The Blue Run route will take you from the Etihad Stadium to the City Football Academy, whilst being covering in blue powder along the way!

Every penny raised will go towards City in the Community’s mental health programme, City Thrive.

The initiative was developed with the NHS in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and helps to provide immediate wellbeing support for thousands of people in Manchester aged up to 25.

The programme itself utilises a blended approach, using football sessions, group workshops and one-to-one mentoring to educate students around mental health subjects whilst also equipping them with the tools to regulate their own mental wellbeing in a post COVID-19 landscape.
