Beth, Darnell, Joe, and Joshua all studied with CITC on the BTEC programme, before moving onto the Degree programme and now have all gained some form of paid employment with the charity.

“Students learn and practice at state-of-the-art facilities such as the Etihad Campus.

“Students are provided numerous unique opportunities to volunteer and carry out work-based learning placements on CITC’s bespoke Education and Outreach programmes.
“Following their studies, CITC look to recruit students who have displayed excellent levels of commitment and dedication with full-time employment opportunities, working on outstanding educational programmes and with high-performing teams.”

The first episode in the ‘Studies to Staff’ series heard from Beth who completed studies on both the BTEC and Degree programme before gaining part-time employment within the City Play and City Play Together team.

BTEC PROGRAMME
The BTEC programme provides an opportunity for students who are passionate about football and their education, to combine the two as part of the course.
The curriculum provides students with an insight into what life would be like coaching in an academy session, through the way in which CITC staff deliver sessions.
The team currently delivers in four sixth form and colleges, Oldham College, Cheadle College, Ashton Sixth Form and Connell College.
DEGREE PROGRAMME
The sport coaching degree programme is delivered in partnership with the Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU).
The programme brings together CITC’s community football coaching knowledge with Manchester Metropolitan’s academic expertise, to offer the best of both worlds and an integrated path to rewarding career goals.
The BSc (Hons) and FdSc Manchester City Community Football Coaching programme is designed to give students a unique opportunity, by matching MMU’s academic expertise with the facilities, experience, and know-how of City in the Community.
