Manchester City want to say a huge thank you to our fans for the way they have rallied together in support of our ground-breaking Cityzens Giving for Recovery campaign.

City supporters from all over the world have been generously donating and fundraising for recovery-linked projects in nine cities spread across the world to help communities near nine of City Football Group (CFG)’s clubs get back on their feet in the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic.

City Football Group have matched donations pound for pound to double the impact, with more than £575,000 raised together to date.

Fans have participated in a host of innovative fundraising initiatives, including Official Supporters Club virtual events, an auction of unique City shirts worn against Arsenal on 17th June where Etihad Airways generously donated their front of shirt space, the Rise Up Keep Up challenge which saw fans show off their keepy-uppy skills and the sale of City face coverings with all proceeds going to Cityzens Giving for Recovery.

The crowd-fund was the first phase of Cityzens Giving for Recovery which is a 12-month programme aimed at focusing our donations, expertise, facilities, resources and voice together in helping to make a positive difference to the recovery of our communities.

The generosity of our fans now enables the projects to kick off in earnest and lives to be changed in communities around the world.

In Manchester, young people particularly affected by the pandemic will be supported through a tailored programme that will embed mental health awareness and understanding across all City in the Community’s projects.

Projects globally range from providing the most vulnerable families with free, healthy meals to reconnecting children to their education and using the power of football to keep communities connected.

City’s commitment to helping those most in need of support is ongoing, however the Club wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to all our fans and partners who have supported the campaign to date.
