Flying in from Manchester, Melbourne, Mumbai, New York City and Bandung, the young leaders took part in a four-day football and leadership experience, developing as community coaches at City Football Schools.
Reflecting on what he had learnt throughout the week, Fredy, a young leader with City in the Community in New York City, said: “My main takeaway about being here in Abu Dhabi is learning that it’s more than just teaching the kids how to kick a ball. It’s also them developing life skills that they will later use in life.”
As well as experiencing much of what Abu Dhabi has to offer as a leading cultural destination, the group had the unique opportunity to visit Etihad Airways HQ for an interactive leadership workshop.

“We engaged in a fun and interactive session inspired by the Grow with Etihad leadership programme and discussed some key elements in being an effective leader.
“The participants had interesting questions which inspired some thought-provoking discussions and I hope they will take this experience back home to enrich their teams and local communities.
