Led by City in the Community coaches, the Coach Education Day was designed to equip grassroots coaches with the tools to use soccer as a means for promoting healthier lifestyles among youth. The day featured a blend of on-pitch sessions and interactive workshops focused on inclusivity, physical health, and mental well-being.
By creating a supportive learning environment, the workshops not only developed coaching skills but also encouraged meaningful conversations around the role soccer plays in a community. We wanted the coaches to leave the sessions feeling supported in creating safe and inclusive spaces where all young people, regardless of background or ability, can thrive.
Running alongside this, the CITC coaches also delivered free soccer clinics for local children. The activities built their confidence, inspired teamwork and ignited a love for the game. We aimed to give local children a chance to play and learn in a fun and supportive environment.
Manchester City legends Joleon Lescott and Shaun Wright-Phillips paid a visit, engaging in meaningful conversations about the importance of creating these safe spaces to play. They took time to listen to local children and coaches, hearing their stories and experiences firsthand.
The clinics were also supported by PUMA, who provided kit and equipment to help ensure a top-quality experience for everyone involved. As part of the events, the PUMA x KidSuper activation joined the sessions, giving the participants a chance to explore the KidSuper bus and take part in interactive challenges.
City are committed to empowering communities and bringing safe, inclusive spaces to global communities. Using soccer to inspire positive conversations and action towards positive change.
