On this day in 1983, Glauber Berti was born!

The Brazilian, who turns 38 today, arrived at Manchester City on 31 August 2008 and went on to become an unlikely cult hero.

Glauber became a permanent fixture on the bench as the season progressed and it seemed his one-year deal would end with him being remembered as City’s most unused sub.

On the final day of the 2008/09 campaign, the defender came on during the home game with Bolton, playing for around 10 minutes before the final whistle blew.

The reception he was afforded by the City fans was reward for his patience and he will be forever remembered because of those few minutes in a sky blue jersey.
