It proved another action-packed and eventful weekend for City's men's, women's, EDS and Under-18 sides with goals aplenty once more.

Oliver Reiss’s Under-18s were the first of our teams in action and powered their way to a resounding 5-0 victory away at Blackburn Rovers in our latest Under-18 Premier League North encounter.

Xavier Parker claimed a brace with Christian Dunbar-McDonald, Floyd Samba and Dexter Oliver also on target as the Blues’ youngsters extended our lead at the top of the table to seven points.

The attention then switched to Pep Guardiola’s first team with City getting back to winning ways in impressive fashion with a solid 2-0 Premier League victory at home to Wolves.

Seeking an instant response after losses away at Manchester United and Bodo/Glimt, an early goal from Omar Marmoush, on what was his first Premier League start since August, got City up and running.

It then got even better when January arrival Antoine Semenyo marked his first home Premier League start for City by doubling our advantage on the stroke of half time.

With fellow new signing Marc Guéhi enjoying a superbly accomplished debut after his move from Crystal Palace, it made for the perfect day all round with City reducing the gap to league leaders Arsenal to four points.

Sunday’s action started with a dramatic and huge 2-1 victory for our women’s side away at London City Lionesses.

Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw’s 86th-minute strike proved the difference in London, as she fired home from close-range following a goalmouth scramble after Freya Gregory had cancelled out Kerolin’s first half opener.

It was another magnificent result for Andree Jeglerzt’s side and one that extended our advantage at the top of the Barclays Women’s Super League to nine points.

The weekend action then concluded with our Elite Development Squad who went down to a frustrating 3-2 Premier League 2 defeat away at Everton.

Goals from Ashton Muir and Matty Warhurst had seen City hit back from falling a goal behind to take the first half lead only for the hosts to level on the stroke of half time.

But just when it looked as though the points would be shared, Everton struck with an 88th minute penalty to claim a later winner.
