Aymeric Laporte, Benjamin Mendy and Rodrigo all faced three skills test using robots, mimicking the types of challenges children around Manchester are able to enjoy each year.
Thanks to a CITC’s collaboration with UBTECH Robotics, which began in 2018, hundreds of students are learning valuable STEM and coding skills.
The exciting partnership with the global leader in intelligent humanoid robots enables coaches to deliver bespoke coding lessons, in order to complement the national curriculum for computing.
Primary schools from across the city benefit from this initiative, which gives pupils the unique opportunity to explore topics such as research technologies, software usage, design and writing programs, and logic and reasoning.
CITC’s School Sports Manager, Lucy Milward, said: “It’s been great fun watching Laporte, Mendy and Rodri take on the same challenges used in our City Stars ICT programme.
“We know that the children will really enjoy seeing how professional footballers fare in the tasks, before trying to beat their scores back in the classroom.
“We’d like to take this opportunity to thanks UBTECH Robotics for their ongoing support of this unique programme, which offers local children the opportunity to learn new technology skills outside of the national curriculum whilst having fun.”
