Seven members of City's pre-season squad joined the Club's community coaches as they delivered free, inclusive football clinics to over 30 young people from Special Olympics in Houston.

Riyad Mahrez, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Finley Burns, Rico Lewis, Oscar Bobb, Ben Knight and Kayky paid a surprise visit to the session before spending time engaging with participants on and off the pitch.

Special Olympics Texas works with young people with intellectual disabilities, providing an inclusive environment for them to participate in sport and physical activity, and to build confidence and friendships.

Thanks to Official Club Partner, Visit Abu Dhabi, the players rounded off their visit by distributing tickets for participants and their families to watch Manchester City in action against Club America on Wednesday at the NRG Stadium.

Katherine Kirkpatrick, Development Director of Special Olympics Texas East Region, said: “Special Olympics is on a mission to advance the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in all areas of life, on and off the field.

“Our goal is to break down barriers and create inclusive opportunities for our athletes and their peers.

“It’s an honor to partner with a world-class organization such as Manchester City to provide the unique experience for both our athletes and the professional by creating a unified space through a shared passion.”
