Matheus Nunes has described his transfer to Manchester City as a ‘dream come true’.

The Portugal international has signed a five-year contract with the Club and joins from fellow Premier League side Wolves.

It represents our fourth summer signing after Mateo Kovacic, Josko Gvardiol and Jeremy Doku all arrived into Pep Guardiola’s squad.

And the 25-year-old revealed it was a straightforward decision to switch to the Treble winners.

“I’m very happy of course to be here. It’s a dream come true, I always wanted to play for a big club in England and this year God blessed me with that,” he declared.

“So I’m very happy, very excited and I can’t wait to get started.

“I think it was an easy one [the decision to join City].

“Actually I think when I first found out that they [City] were interested in me, I didn’t think twice. I’m very happy to be here.”

Nunes is also relishing the opportunity to play in the Champions League once again this season with City – a competition he hasn’t played in since February 2022 with Sporting.

But he explained there were a variety of factors that contributed to his transfer to the Club, including working under Guardiola.

He added: “There’s a lot of factors [for signing], being in the Champions of course, I mean, it’s amazing for me to even think to come here.

“The coach as well. I mean it’s a huge club, it has a lot of the best you can get, the best opportunities, the best structure.

“So I think there’s a lot of factors that influenced my decision to come here.”
