Pep Guardiola sat down to chat music, fashion, motivating his players and former Oasis star Noel Gallagher recently.

In a rare insight to a world most people never get to see, the City boss speaks about how he gets himself and his players motivated on he back of success after success.

On motivation he says: “After eight years with the same message, and always, that’s why I’ve said many times with the managers, there is not a book, which tells you after eight years what you have to do.

“So you arrive there, you see your eyes, you see the eyes of the players and the staff, and you say, ‘Okay, today you have to do this.’

“‘Tomorrow you have to do that,’ or ‘The day after tomorrow you have to be completely the opposite.’

“And always I think, the fear to lose games, to disappoint people, to disappoint yourself, to maintain these standards, as high as possible.

“That makes you feel, ‘Okay, next, let’s try to do it again.’ It is a little bit like that.”

His friendship and mutual respect of legendary Blue Noel Gallagher is examined, with Pep revealing his love of Noel’s music and the impact Oasis had around the world.

Finally, Pep reveals it is his wife, Mrs Guardiola, who is responsible for him always looking dapper at press conferences, public appearances or any of the many award ceremonies he is asked to attend.

“When somebody is better than you, my advice is listen to what they have to say.” he says of his wife’s taste in fashion.
