Superb late goals from John Stones and Erling Haaland not only secured a second successive Group G win – but also saw City stage another rousing comeback after Jude Bellingham had given the German side a 56th minute lead.
Guardiola acknowledged City hadn’t been at our fluent dynamic best – but said his squad again demonstrated their priceless ability to find a way to come back from behind.
It’s a key quality he said that his players have mastered over the past few years.
“We changed the rhythm a bit, part of it was the players but also I would say because we were 1-0 down, it was important for us,” the boss reflected.
“The first years that I was here we never came back. We were not a team with this ability to come back but we do now,
“I don’t know what happened, West Ham it started (last season), then Aston Villa when we were champions, Newcastle, Crystal Palace, today.
“We can now create momentum, of course Julian (Alvarez) helps with another player in the box and Kevin on the right to make crosses from that position. It wasn’t easy to come back, they defended well over the 90 minutes.”
