The Portugal international was again asked to play in the hybrid role he excelled in against Aston Villa, operating in multiple positions throughout the 90 minutes.
With the Blues in possession, Silva would support his team-mates in central midfield while out of possession he was asked to fill in where necessary in the backline.
With the second-half introduction of Manuel Akanji, City went to a more traditional back four and the No.20 was moved to the right wing - where he helped start the move that led to City’s second goal on the night.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Guardiola thanked the 28-year-old for his willingness to fill in where required.
“There are times when you can’t use it but Bernardo has something special in his personality and character,” he said.
“He started left-back, then went right winger and it shows you how good they are as a player. He plays football and he understands to play in many positions and he did it very well.”
