Speaking in his post-match press conference, Guardiola thanked the 28-year-old for his willingness to fill in where required.
“There are times when you can’t use it but Bernardo has something special in his personality and character,” he said.
“He started left-back, then went right winger and it shows you how good they are as a player. He plays football and he understands to play in many positions and he did it very well.”
