Pep Guardiola says the Premier League still holds significant value to Manchester City and him, personally.

Following his arrival at the Etihad Stadium in the summer of the 2016, the boss has spectacularly guided us to 16 major honours so far.

This includes five league crowns – with the latest contributing to the Blues’ historic Big Five haul of the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, Super Cup and Club World Cup in the past 12 months.

Now, with eight games remaining in the 2023/24 league campaign – we are relentlessly competing for an unprecedented fourth straight title triumph.

And Guardiola reaffirmed his affection for the division’s ever improving challenges as we enter the business end of the campaign.

“I love it. The domestic trophy is the important one,” he declared.

“The Premier League, La Liga. I’m not going to say the Champions League is not nice, of course it is.

“Now we have it, we know what it means to have it in our soul and our peace for the fact we’ve got it.

“But the knowledge is because it’s [the Premier League] more difficult, there are more games. It’s every week, two or three games. Every week, every week, every week.

“The Champions League is of course important. But it depends more on some things you cannot control. Both are incredibly important, but the Premier League improves a lot.

“It means the mentality of the teams to be there all the time for many, many years. For me personally and my education at home or whatever.

“To be [there] every day, you have to do the best so that means a lot to us and me personally.”
