Pep Guardiola said every Premier League title has been a huge achievement and that our fourth title in a row had been another big test.

City finished just two points above rivals Arsenal following our 3-1 victory on the final day against West Ham to secure our 10th title and six in seven years under Guardiola.

It was the third time he has won the title on the final day, last time pipping Liverpool with dramatic victories.

This season was hampered by lengthy absences to key players including Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland and he praised the depth of the squad to cope without them.

“Always we have problems but I don’t forget [the contribution of] Julian [Alvarez],” he said.

“With Erling absence, Julian stepped up unbelievably. Phil [Foden] playing another position. He is a guy who wins games. I could say many names but I don’t want to forget anyone.

“Kevin is not the same Kevin of seven years ago. Yet still we find a way to win games and arrive in the decisive part of the season.”

While Guardiola was setting new records, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was saying farewell to the Premier League.

He won one title during his time at Anfield and was beaten by City by just a point on two other occasions.

It became one of the great managerial rivalries of the modern era and Klopp was generous in his praise for Guardiola’s achievements before leaving.

The City boss paid tribute to the German with his side pushing us to greater heights on the pitch.

“I will miss him a lot,” Pep said. “Jurgen has been a really important part of my life .

“He brought me to another level as a manger and we respect each other incredibly.

“I want to say thank you for his words and he knows that behind me there are people at this Club that support me.

“He has been a huge competition in my life. In many moments, I didn’t find a way to finish them like I can with other teams.

“Mikel [Arteta] will continue his legacy I am sure. Hopefully his final game was special for him, he deserves it.

“He made people proud to be a Liverpool fan. They arrive in one place and they stay forever. Jurgen and Liverpool will be there with [Bill] Shankly and [Bob] Paisley.”
