At the end of last year, we caught up with Ed Dalton, Director of Infrastructure and Development, about construction progress on the Etihad Stadium development.

As part of the project, the Club is expanding stadium capacity to over 60,000 as well as developing a new City Square Fanzone, museum, City Store, 400-bed hotel and a range of food and beverage outlets.

The North Stand itself will open during the 2025/26 football season, with the hotel, workspace and public realm works including City Square, opening in late 2026.

The Club’s development will represent over £300m investment into East Manchester and create 2,600 jobs in the process.

Once completed, the new facilities will sit alongside the 23,500 Co-op Live Arena – a joint venture between City Football Group and Oak View Group - within a wider entertainment destination that our fans, the people of Manchester and the rest of the world can visit and enjoy.
