Raheem Sterling‘s goal settled a close encounter in City’s favour as we returned to winning ways after back to back draws.

Sterling steered Kevin De Bruyne‘s pinpoint pass across goal into the bottom corner from 12-yards 16 minutes into the game and City’s defence held firm to secure all three points against the high flying Saints.
Both sides enjoyed periods of dominance in an entertaining game at St Mary’s Stadium.
It might have been a more comfortable win had Bernardo Silva connected better with his shot after good work from De Bruyne, whilst Alex McCarthy made a superb save to deny Ilkay Gunodgan from distance.
At the other end, Ederson made good stops from from Theo Walcott and Jannik Verstergaard and the home side had a penalty appeal rejected by VAR after a cross bounced into Sterling‘s arm.
