Each month CITC is spotlighting its work and programmes through the voices and stories of its participants across Manchester.
The eleventh video sees Imogen discuss her journey on the City in the Community and Manchester Metropolitan, Community Football Coaching Degree course and how she balanced studying and playing football.
Imogen said: “The course has affected my life, as it has allowed me to find my future career path and it has helped me see what different careers paths are on offer to myself.”
“CITC specifically helped me with my future by sending part-time job alerts and helped set myself up to work part-time, as well as completing my degree and other qualifications.”
Alex Kershaw, 11+ Education Officer – Higher CITC, said: “It has been great to see how Imogen made the most of her time with us by securing work and coming out with a successful qualification at the end of her studies.
“We are really looking forward to watching Imogen shine in the future!”
The Club’s charity delivers a BSc (Hons) Sport Coaching Degree in partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU).
The programmes bring together CITC’s community football coaching knowledge with Manchester Metropolitan’s academic expertise, to offer the best of both worlds and an integrated path to rewarding career goals.
The degree combines classroom - and practical - based teaching at MMU’s newly launched Institute of Sport with work-based learning at the state-of-the-art Etihad Campus.
This mix is designed to help students develop a comprehensive skillset in coaching, sport development, performance analysis, strength and conditioning and more.
