She ranks City as one of the best clubs she has played for in her storied career and provided a glowing review of her time at the Academy Stadium.

“I remember them asking me - many people asking me - when I went over to City, what I thought of it and how it was,” Lloyd explained.

“I was completely honest. I said it was amazing. The players were all welcoming. Everybody at the organisation was amazing.

“It was the most top-notch club I have ever been a part of. And that on the women’s side is something that you want to play for.

“When I found out Rose and Sam were potentially going there, I reached out to Sam.

“I was really happy for them and I thought there was no better place to go than City – I am a little biased in that regard!”

Lloyd also discussed the upcoming Manchester derby and the threat posed by the Reds’ American duo of Tobin Heath and Christen Press.
