City won our fourth trophy in the competition, defeating Chelsea 3-1 at Wimbledon’s Plough Lane, thanks to a stunning second half display.
Caroline Weir bagged a brace, while Ellen White was also on the scoresheet, to cancel out Sam Kerr’s opener.
Speaking to mancity.com after the game, Taylor spoke of his delight for the way his side stepped up in the second half, declaring the victory was the perfect reward for their efforts across a challenging season.
“It feels great,” he said. “A little bit surreal - things didn’t look good at half-time. We were struggling a bit in our build-up play.
“We tweaked a bit at half-time and the girls were amazing. The second half performance was incredible - tactically, technically and physically. We stepped up on so many levels.
“It’s definitely just reward. You’re moving in the right direction, you want something to clarify that for you and winning a trophy is great.”
Taylor also hailed the incredible travelling support, who made the journey to Plough Lane from Manchester, and spurred City onto victory.
“We had great support, a great atmosphere and we’re sending them home happy, which is nice,” he added.
“There’s more to come for sure. That’s the objective and we keep going.”
