Gareth Taylor says Manchester City are handling the pressure of trying to clinch the final Women’s Champions League spot by taking each game as it comes.

City are locked in a battle with Manchester United for third going into the final few weeks of the season.

The Reds currently occupy the final European place in the FA Women’s Super League and, whilst they have a three-point lead, Taylor’s side have a game in hand on our rivals.

City are on a nine-match unbeaten run in all competitions and the boss has been impressed with how his players have managed a scenario which leaves little margin for error.

“Pretty good,” he said when asked how the team were handling the season finale at his press conference ahead of Sunday’s game against Leicester City.

“The players are handling the sessions and going game to game.

“We have got a couple of games - three at home and Reading away - and then the cup final. It’s a nice part of the season.

“Everything is in our own hands. The players know that, but they are going game to game and not looking too far ahead into the future.”
