Having joined the Club in January, The midfielder made her City bow in our 3-0 Continental Cup semi-final victory over Tottenham Hotspur, before also coming off the bench for her FA Women’s Super League debut against Chelsea three days later.

Still only 19, the Norway international has explained the impact that fellow midfielders Lauren Hemp and Caroline Weir have both had on her first few weeks at the City Football Academy.

Indeed, Blakstad says she hopes to emulate both of their achievements at City as she continues her rapid development.

“Watching these girls play is incredible. Especially in my position, (Lauren Hemp) Hempo and Caz (Caroline Weir) are really good players,” she said.

“They have a lot of football in them, I feel like this league is much quicker, especially Hempo is a very good, quick player and that’s something I want to be.

“I learn from them every day and it’s amazing.

“Watching the best players, being with them and training with them every day will make me better.

“This is a good place to be, just to compete and play with the best players every day.”
