While City demonstrated throughout the season that we possessed one of the most devastating attacks in the WSL, our staunch rearguard provided an essential foundation from which Gareth Taylor’s side were able to flourish.
At the base of that defensive unit was the almost ever-present Ellie Roebuck as well as Karima Taeib and Karen Bardsley, who stepped up to the plate whenever called upon.
Roebuck’s expert positioning and fantastic athleticism mean that it was difficult for CityTV to whittle down her exploits into just five key moments.
Indeed, only the eventual WSL champions, Chelsea, boasted a better defensive record than our phenomenal sum of just 13 goals conceded all season.
In our final nine matches of the campaign, City kept an incredible eight clean sheets and, from the turn of the year, conceded just four times in 13 unbeaten matches.
