The Australia international was voted into the side by professionals across England’s top division alongside City colleague Yui Hasegawa.
It followed her sparkling 2024/25 campaign where she scored 10 goals and registered 10 assists in 30 appearances before her term was cut short by an injury sustained in April.
And in the wake of the 22-year-old extending her Blues stay until the summer of 2027, Fowler says the recognition by her peers is precious after her dedication to deliver consistently on the field.
“It was really special,” she explained.
“For me, that’s the best award I can get in football to have teammates and other players in the league to recognise the work I’ve put in to be consistent throughout the season. That means a lot to me.

“Consistency was something that I wanted to get better at. That I think I’d shown people in certain games what I could do, but I hadn’t done that consistently week after week in games.
“Last season I really wanted to get better at that especially after a pretty disappointing Olympics. I put a lot more energy in bringing my all into every game and we had a lot of games last season.
“I’m really proud of what I’d given to the team and the focus and energy I brought. To have other people recognise that, that meant a lot to me. It feels hard sometimes to reflect the journey and see I’ve actually progressed and grown.
“To get recognition like that is the best compliment to get.”
