Gareth Taylor believes City deserved at least a point after the 2-0 Women's Super League defeat against Chelsea.

City dominated the first half at Kingsmeadow but were dealt a sickening blow just three minutes until the interval as Fran Kirby put the hosts ahead with their first effort on target.

Maren Mjelde sealed the win from the penalty spot with just under 15 minutes left to condemn us to our second defeat of the season.

Taylor feels the performance from his team deserved something from the game.

“I think we deserved it yeah, with the effort the players put in for sure.

“You don’t always get the rub of the green. We’ve never had it when we’ve come here and we’ve suffered big moments here at Chelsea.

“It’s hard to ask for patience but this is a new group and a new team.”
