City sit top of the north section of the Premier League, having not been beaten in 14 matches, and guaranteed safe passage to the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup with a thumping victory over Reading last week.
Foden, however, insists City can’t afford to get carried away or think of future challenges when they line up at the City Football Academy against the Potters.
The 16-year-old said: “We’ve played well so far but we have to focus on each game as it comes. We’re trying to win every competition we’re in which means playing a lot of matches to a high standard.
“Stoke are one of the teams we haven’t played yet but we’ve done a lot of work to be ready for their style and we’ll be looking to get another win.”
Having scored nine goals already this season for Lee Carsley’s side and received a call-up for Pep Guardiola’s Champions League squad, Foden is delighted with the football he has played.
He said: “I like to arrive late into the box and that has helped me create a lot of space in opposition defences. We’ve got so many players in the team that can play a pass it makes it easier to score goals.”
“I work hard and stay professional at all times. I give a 100% in everything we are asked to do because I know that is how I will play my best football week in week out.”
