Manchester City have finished top of the north section of the U18 Premier League but how impressive have their statistics been?

Fixtures for the national stage of the U18 Premier League are set to be released on Monday 6 March and you can get all the latest on mancity.com or on Twitter at @ManCityAcademy.

Win percentage

Having won 17 matches, drawn four and lost one, City’s win percentage is just under 80%. City have dropped just eleven points in the first period of this season.

Goals for

Lee Carsley’s side have scored an incredible 70 goals in their 22 matches, at an average of well over three per match.

A 7-0 thrashing of Liverpool in just the third match of the season got the ball rolling and since then City have put 11 past Wolves across two matches and reached the five goal mark in the home victory over Stoke.

Four goal salvos against Newcastle, Blackburn, Everton, Middlesbrough and Sunderland have also boosted the total.

Top scorers

The 70 goals City have hit have been shared out amongst the many attacking talents at Carsley’s disposal.

Lorenzo Gonzalez sits top with 13 goals while Jadon Sancho is just behind with 12. Following that, Phil Foden and Joe Hardy both have 11 goals despite Foden operating in midfield and Hardy often sharing the lone striker’s role with Gonzalez.

Ian Carlo Poveda rounds off City’s top five with eight strikes of his own.

Assists

It’s two names not on the top scorers list that sit proudly at the head of the assists rankings.

Right winger Luke Bolton leads the league rankings with eleven while central midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru has created eight goals for his teammates.

Following in behind are Foden with six and Hardy with five.

Goals conceded

Not only have City been an irresistible attacking force so far in 2016/17, they have also conceded the second fewest goals across both the north and south divisions.

The 22 goals scored against City is one more than south champions Chelsea but as many as nine less than nearest northern challengers Manchester United.

Seven clean sheets, five with Aro Muric between the sticks and two for Pawel Sokol, have gone a long way to helping City to that figure.

Most appearances

In such a competitive squad packed with youth internationals, just making the starting eleven is an excellent achievement for these players.

Foden has been City’s most used squad member so far, having been on the pitch for more than 1600 minutes.

Defenders Joel Latibeaudiere and Ed Francis are close behind Foden while Colin Rosler, Luke Bolton, Matt Smith, Aro Muric, Iker Pozo and Ian Carlo Poveda have all been involved for more than 1000 minutes.
