Fresh from scoring a brace in our impressive 5-0 U18 Premier League Cup win over Swansea, Liam Delap says he is loving life at City.

Delap joined City from Derby County in the summer and has made a promising start to life with Gareth Taylor’s U18s.

The 16-year-old has not only helped cup holders City through to the last eight of this season’s Under 18 Premier League Cup, but his efforts have also helped the squad sit top of the league table.

“I think all the staff and all the boys have supported me and helped me settle in,” Delap said.

“I’ve settled in really well, I love it here.”

A five-star performance from holders City against Swansea guided us through to the quarter-finals of the U18 Premier League Cup and Delap was pleased with the team performance as well his two goals.

“We were patient against Swansea,” Delap added. “The first goal, we made 33 passes before we scored, and the second half performance was unreal.

“I’m pleased with two goals.”

City’s impressive start to the season in all competitions has left Delap more than hopeful that he and his teammates can taste silverware this season.

“We want to carry on how we are doing in the league and the cup,” Delap added.

“Hopefully we can win the league and do as well as we can in the cup, our aim is to win it again the [U18 Premier League Cup].”

Next up for our U18s is a league game against Derby County at the City Football Academy on Saturday 30th November, kick-off 12pm.
