Gareth Taylor’s side were looking to build on our previous group victories against Liverpool and Southampton and more than rose to the task.
Striker Liam Delap bagged a first half brace while skipper Cole Palmer then put City three up at half-time.
James McAtee and Oscar Bobb scored two late goals to round off a fine performance, securing qualification to the last eight.
What happened
City started brightly and created several early chances through Palmer that were well saved by Swansea goalkeeper Lewis Webb.
However, our pressure eventually told when we took the lead after half an hour through Delap. Captain Palmer worked his way down the right playing the ball across to leave the striker with a simple finish.
The lead was soon doubled with Delap grabbing his second of the game. The ball ricocheted around the Swansea area, before falling to the feet of our number nine to tap it in.
Two minutes later, Ben Knight was brought down in the area as City maintained the tempo.
Palmer stepped up and fired his penalty into the top corner of the net to further stretch City’s advantage.
Taylor’s young charges kept up the pressure after the break and continued to pressure the visitors’ defence.
We made it four late on when substitute James McAtee was played through on goal before then demonstrating his composure and rolling the ball beyond the keeper.

Substitute Oscar Bobb cut in from the right and bent an effort into far corner to round off a fantastic team performance.
How we lined up
James Trafford was in goal shielded by a back four of CJ Egan Riley, Finley Burns, Luke Mbete-Tabu and Josh Wilson-Esbrand. Lewis Fiorini provided cover in defensive midfield, with Cole Palmer and Ben Knight supporting the attackers. Oscar Bobb and Samuel Edozie started out wide with Liam Delap playing down the middle.
What it means
The result sees City qualify for the quarter finals of the U18 Premier League Cup, finishing top of the group with three wins from a possible three, beating Swansea, Liverpool and Southampton along the way.
What’s next
City return to Under-18 Premier League action on Saturday 30th November as Derby County visit the City Football Academy. Kick-off is at 12pm.
