Our Bangkok Official Supporters Club branch have enjoyed a hugely successful first year as part of the Manchester City family.

Established at the start of the 22/23 season, the branch have grown to nearly 200 members and continue to establish themselves in a country with a huge passion for football.

A community of City supporters had already grown in Thailand for more than a decade, aiming to meet for matches at least two or three times per year.

But the decision to start an official branch was taken at the beginning of this season, as explained by their Chair, Chidsanupong: “I decided to create the Official Supporters Club in Thailand as I felt a branch would be a way to connect the fan base to the football club.

“There are a lot of City fans here and its time that we had a channel to connect them directly to this great club. We currently have 176 members and I know this will be more next season.

“We don’t have a main location, with every meet up being in a different pub, bar, or restaurant.

“Every event is free for all, and the results were great with more than 80 people joining our first few screenings. Our other events then got even bigger and thanks to local support we were able to provide gifts on attendance.

“We now host events with more that 120 members.”

Indeed, the Bangkok branch have already managed to organise four events, doing so with just four committee members.

To celebrate their incredible success, the group are planning two further match screenings for City’s FA Cup and UEFA Champions League final appearances in June.

This follows a hugely successful screening of our 1-0 victory over Chelsea, which saw Pep Guardiola’s men celebrate clinching a fifth Premier League title in six seasons.

The event was attended by more than 150 members, with a replica Premier League trophy and ‘dressing room’ available for fans to take pictures with, as well as the opportunity to win a signed shirt by Club legend, Sergio Aguero.

Kittipoom, the branch’s General Secretary, added: “We’re all looking forward to the next watch party for the FA Cup final against Manchester United and the Champions League final, even if it’s played in the middle of the night at 2am Bangkok time.

“Our members are ready to come together once again to support City playing in one of the most important matches in our Club’s history.”

We’re excited to see the Bangkok branch grow and look forward to seeing more watch parties and match screenings take place.
