To celebrate 30 years of the Premier League, all club charities were asked to nominate a Community Captain who demonstrates a commitment to their club and/or community.
The campaign celebrates not just the brilliant on-pitch stories but also the incredible off-pitch impact of the Premier League and clubs over the past 30 years.
CITC nominated 11+ Community Lead Coach, Peter Bradshaw, as its Community Captain as part of the celebration.
Pete first joined CITC as a participant back in the early 1990’s where he attended Soccer Schools.
Since then, he initially joined the CITC team as a full-time staff member on the Primary Schools programme before then moving to the Premier League Inspires programme.
Michael Geary, Head of City in the Community said: “Pete is so deserving of this award. He embodies everything that we aim to do at CITC, getting involved in different projects across all age ranges.
“He has infectious positive energy; he is a joy to be around and deserves all his hard work to be recognised in this way.”
Pete has now worked with CITC for more than six years, working not only on the Inspires programme but also working with the Military Veterans programme, as well as working on match day Fan Zones.
Pete Bradshaw said: “I am incredibly proud and grateful to receive the PL Community Captain Award. I work with so many amazing coaches and staff members at CITC, so to be selected from them is a true honour.
“I am ecstatic to receive this award, however I currently work on the PL Inspires programme where I am rewarded everyday through the work I do with the staff and participants at our partner high schools.
“I am very grateful for all of the opportunities I have been given and will continue to work hard every day so that I can continue to gain experiences myself while also leaving the shirt in a better place for others to carry on our great work.”

“It’s clear he genuinely cares about all the participants and works tirelessly to ensure they are progressing with reaching their full potential and becoming the best version of themselves.
“His love for City in the Community becomes very apparent when asked to support additional programmes or volunteer for events. Pete is the first to put his hand up to help and the last to leave once each event finishes.
“He’s an integral part of the 11+ team and the work he has carried out as part of the Military Veterans programme has been exceptional.”
The campaign launched on Monday, August 8 and includes a nationwide Premier League trophy tour.
