Sitting under the charity’s ‘Healthy People’ pillar, CITC PLPS coaches work with pupils to help enhance their physical and social development through National Curriculum PE lessons.
Coaches also work closely with teachers within lessons to improve their confidence and competence when delivering PE.
The programme also delivers educational workshops on topics such as anti-bullying and anti-racism throughout the year, alongside tournaments and events.
Coaches tailor the programme and delivery to best meet the requirements of the school/group that they are working with.
One teacher from, St Matthew’s CofE Primary School said: “It’s been brilliant to see how engaged the children are in the session. They are really enjoying them and tell me after the sessions.
“It’s also obvious that the skills we are working on are constantly improving. You can see that with the less confident children who are enjoying the sessions.
“As for CPD, I feel more confident talking to you and it’s been good to see the plans and how the skills progress.”
CITC offers a SEND School Programme focusing on inclusive physical development lessons.
