Nissan, Sure and Music Magpie have all given donations towards the event, meaning that funds raised by runners will have significant impact on the City Thrive programme.
Nissan’s support will also see them have a large presence on the day – including a cheer zone with Manchester City’s Official LGBTQ+ Supporters Club, Canal Street Blues.
Sure, which is also a sponsor of City in the Community’s disability programme, will have representatives will be present on the day, taking part in the event and also volunteering.
The Blue Run is City in the Community’s most popular fundraising event, taking place on Saturday, March 26.
Fans are able to enjoy a 2.5 or 5km fun run around the City Football Academy and Etihad stadium, all whilst being covered in blue paint.
City in the Community’s Senior Partnerships Manager, Sam Dainty, said: “The support of our Blue Run sponsors will make a huge difference to the impact we can have on the people of Manchester.
“We are also thrilled to be working together in bringing to life activations for all fans to enjoy, making this the most unique and exciting Blue Run to date.
“We’d like to express our sincere thanks to Nissan, Sure and Music Magpie for this support.”
Every penny raised will go towards City in the Community’s mental health programme, City Thrive.
The initiative was developed with the NHS in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and helps to provide immediate wellbeing support for thousands of people in Manchester aged up to 25.
The programme itself utilises a blended approach, using football sessions, group workshops and one-to-one mentoring to educate students around mental health subjects whilst also equipping them with the tools to regulate their own mental wellbeing in a post COVID-19 landscape.
