Manchester City’s Official Partner, WeWork, is collaborating with City in the Community to host its Young Leaders Programme at WeWork Spinningfields, providing them with an environment designed for collaboration and inspiration.

Focusing on female empowerment, the Young Leaders Programme aims to provide young females aged 16-25 around the world with the tools to enhance their careers by combining face-to-face training, remote mentoring and digital networking.

In partnership with WeWork, bi-weekly sessions in the Manchester location will allow participants to get involved in an array of team-building activities, such as tasks which challenge their communication skills, in a personal and intimate environment, developing core leadership skills crucial for success in any future industry.

Ahead of the inaugural session in Spinningfields, Young Leaders were also joined by Amanda Racine, Head of First Team Player Engagement and Support at Manchester City, and Kerrie Bulcock, Director of Operations UK, Ireland & Emerging Markets and International President for Women of We – WeWork’s community employee group, which aims to support and empower women and marginalised genders.

They both engaged with the Young Leaders throughout the session, and shared their personal experiences and professional career journeys.

Kerrie Bulcock commented: “We’re delighted to partner with CITC and open the doors at our Spinningfields location for future young female leaders to join our Manchester member community, including international businesses, innovative start-ups and creative entrepreneurs. We know the importance of an inspiring workspace and we are delighted to support this programme which helps set-up the next generation of leaders for success!”

Zahrah Malik, a former CITC participant in the City Girls initiative and now a Community Coach said of the first session: “Being at WeWork today has made us more grateful than ever for the City Girls project, and the inspirational environment really aligns with our objectives.

It’s had a massive impact on us being able to work together more as a team and have that community sense.

Already from this first session we’ve already got to know each other better than we already did.”
