Former Manchester City striker Johnny Williamson has passed away, aged 92.
He made his debut for City in a defeat away at Arsenal in April 1950 and went on to make 62 appearances, scoring 19 goals.
His final game – and goal – came in a 3-0 win over Wolves at Maine Road in April 1955
Johnny was a regular at the Etihad Stadium until 2019, when he moved away from Manchester to be closer to his family.
Everyone at Manchester City would like to send their thoughts and best wishes to Johnny’s family and friends at this difficult time.
Very sad news! John Always looked after me as a young kid at the games. He will be sadly missed 💙 https://t.co/yE7h9RibCE
