The annual ceremony, held at the Point, Old Trafford, recognises the achievements and contributions of the region’s brightest and best in the game, while also paying tribute to those who have achieved footballing excellence both on and off the field.
And with the latest awards focusing on the 2021/22 campaign – another hugely successful year for the Club - it comes as no surprise that Guardiola, De Bruyne and Hemp have all been honoured.
The City boss oversaw a fourth Premier League crown in five years, culminating in a dramatic final day victory over Aston Villa to snatch the title away from Liverpool.
It was our 11th major honour in Guardiola’s six full seasons at the helm, seeing him claim the Manager of the Year prize.
De Bruyne was equally instrumental in our latest title success, grabbing 15 goals and eight assists in 30 Premier League appearances.
The Belgian was named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year for a third successive campaign and recently finished third in the 2022 Ballon d’Or rankings.
And De Bruyne can now add the NWFA Premier League Player of the Season to that ever-growing list of individual honours.
Meanwhile Hemp has claimed The Athletic Women’s Rising Star of the Season award for a second successive year.
The winger was at her brilliant best for Gareth Taylor’s side across the campaign, helping us claim the Continental Cup for a fourth time in our history, as well as reach the FA Cup final.
The 22-year-old finished as City’s leading scorer and assister, finding the net 21 times across 37 appearances in all competitions, while also laying on for her team-mates on ten occasions.
Another outstanding season for Hemp was capped off by being named the PFA Women’s Young Player of the Year prize for a third successive campaign, while the winger was also a key part of England’s historic Euro 2022 triumph this summer.
And there was a special award for two of our former favourites as the Maurice Watkins CBE Lifetime Contribution Award was jointly shared by Ellen White and Jill Scott, who both retired after England’s Euro 2022 success last summer.
Congratulations to each of our winners!
