Manchester City are delighted to once again be supporting Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign as part of our commitment to promoting LGBTQ+ inclusion in sport.

This year’s campaign takes place between Friday 4 – Sunday 13 December, during which the Club will be showing its support for the LGBTQ+ community.

City’s men and women’s first teams both play twice in this period, with the men facing Fulham and Manchester United in back to back home games, whilst the women play Everton away before welcoming Arsenal to the Academy Stadium.

In all of these games, the team captain will be wearing a rainbow armband and, as has been the case in previous years, these will be signed, framed and donated to Canal Street Blues – our Official Supporters Club for LGBTQ+ fans – who will auction the armband, with all proceeds going to charity.

Pep Guardiola will be sporting the Rainbow Laces pin badge at Friday’s press conference and then at the Fulham game the following day.

Our Elite Development Squad and Under-18s will also be taking part in the campaign and both team’s managers, Enzo Maresca and Carlos Vicens, will be wearing Rainbow Laces pin badges during their league fixtures over the next two weekends.

In addition to this, the Club will be promoting the campaign around Manchester thanks to City in the Community coaches, who will be wearing rainbow laces whilst they deliver programmes across the city.
