Bullying has a long-lasting effect on those who experience or witness it, and CITC is keen to play its part in helping to support and reduce it.
‘One Kind Word’ has been chosen as the theme of this year’s Anti-Bullying Week.
Kindness is more important today than it has ever been.
The isolation of the last year has underlined how little acts of consideration can break down barriers and brighten the lives of the people around us.
To launch the week on Monday, November 15, CITC staff will be embracing ‘Odd Socks Day’ to express and celebrate their uniqueness, and they want you to get involved by sending in your ‘Odd Socks’ pictures to @citctweets.
Throughout the week, CITC is also keen to help raise awareness and help to educate its participants, as we unite to help make a positive difference, but above all we will be encouraging everybody to #BeKind!
CITC activities will vary from wearing Odd Socks to delivering activities and workshop within our programmes with an anti-bullying theme, sharing resources and creative tools that get everyone involved in the week to help prevent bullying.
CITC’s safeguarding officer said: “City in the Community has a responsibility to promote the welfare of all our participants in an inclusive and safe environment where they have thrive.
“By supporting anti-bullying week, we can raise awareness across all of our programmes and continue to encourage everybody to ‘Be Kind’ to each other contributing towards a fun and happy experience for all.”
Keep an eye across CITC’s social media accounts for activities and things you can do to get involved in with Anti-Bullying week and promoting a message of #BeKind.
